Take Solutions Q3 profit soars on higher revenues

Take Solutions Ltd, the Chennai-based IT supply chain management (SCM) and life sciences products, has more than doubled its net profit to Rs 19 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2010 against Rs 8 crore in the same quarter previous year.
Revenue increased by 34 per cent during the quarter to Rs 126 crore (Rs 94 crore).
The company ended the third quarter with an order book of $62 million, up 30 per cent over the corresponding period of last fiscal.
In the life sciences segment, the company added seven new customers during the quarter and renewed a $4-million annual contract with a life sciences customer. It also signed a $2-million contract with a top 10 large global pharmaceutical major in the area of clinical research – data analysis and aggregation.
At the end of third quarter, life sciences order book stands at $33.4 million against $28.8 million at the end of the previous quarter, the company said.
In the supply chain management, the company added five new customers during the quarter. It signed a $2 million SCM software licences and services contract with a major global company. At the end of third quarter, the SCM order book stood at $28.3 million ($28.4 million).
